Ask a Surface Ninja: What is the Best Pool Tile?

July 10, 2018

“Interior design” is synonymous with “endless options.” Truly, the sky is always the limit, whether you’re working on a residential, multi-family project or an outdoor, common space with pool tile for a facility.

Projects, where pool tile is involved, are no exception. Fortunately, progress in technology has given us surface ninjas the opportunity to not only recommend the most aesthetically pleasing products for a project but also the most economical in both value and quality.

So, let’s expand on the common designer question: “what is the best pool tile for my project?”

What to consider…

Safety. It always comes first! Map out your biggest safety concerns, given the project you’re working on. That way, when you start shopping, you’ll be able to tell your local surface ninja exactly what needs you have when it comes to safety! This will eliminate as well as highlight certain products, making your search more seamless.

Budget. Well, maybe the budget point should have gone first? Either way, having a firm understanding of your budget is imperative. After all, how can you go shopping if you don’t know how much money you have to spend, or what products may/may not fall into your spending category?

Quality. At Trinity Surfaces, we are big believers in quality – quality service and quality products. After you have an understanding of your budget, consider how you can get the most bank for your buck. Investing in pool tile is an important piece to any project, so the goal is to get it right the first time around. Look at the longevity, sustainability, and design of the products to help narrow down your search.

Design. Okay, designers! We know this one is probably at the top of your list, but we have to get those necessities out at the beginning. This part of the hunt is fun, but not to be taken lightly. Beware of what’s “trending,” because in a year, or five years, will it still be relevant? Think long-term when it comes to pool tile. And, of course, always ask your favorite surface ninja what their expert opinion is!

Pro tip: Shop around!

Unless you have that “love at first sight” moment or you’re the type of designer who knows the right fit as soon as they see it, take your time. Assuming you have the time and budget, there’s no rush! Pumping the brakes can yield better prices and sometimes, a better fit overall for your project!
