The Gilder Rose Project, designed by SKON Designs, demonstrates how thoughtful material layering can bring warmth, texture, and architectural detail to a home’s most functional spaces. Across two bathrooms, a laundry room, and a fireplace feature, a curated palette of porcelain and ceramic surfaces creates a cohesive design story rooted in soft neutrals, dimensional texture, and marble-inspired movement.
In the bathrooms, marble-look porcelain tile introduces elegant veining across the shower walls, complemented by a white herringbone mosaic shower floor that adds subtle pattern and brightness. A second bathroom shifts the palette with glossy ceramic tile lining the shower walls, paired with matte penny round porcelain mosaic flooring from that introduces a soft, tactile texture underfoot. Neutral porcelain floor tile grounds both spaces, maintaining a calm, cohesive backdrop. In the laundry room, marble-inspired porcelain flooring from with gentle grey movement is paired with vertically stacked fluted ceramic tile, bringing sculptural texture to the backsplash. The living space is anchored by polished marble-look porcelain panels wrapping the fireplace, transforming it into a refined focal point within the home. Together, these materials create a balanced composition where texture, pattern, and tone work in harmony. The result is a series of spaces that feel elevated yet livable, highlighting how carefully curated surfaces can shape the character of a home.
