We are huge believers in the idea that “if there’s a will, there’s a way.” That’s even more true when it comes to surface and tile design!
So, if unique and awesome tile design is what you’re in search of, but the budget doesn’t seem to be big enough, think again! Thanks to your favorite team of surface ninjas, here at Trinity Surfaces, we’ve got some seriously useful tips on how to get the most bang for your buck when shopping and designing with tile.
Tip 1: Opt for subway tile
It’s cheap, it’s versatile, and actually, it’s pretty dang beautiful if you ask us! Seriously, we call subway tile our own version of “a diamond in the rough.” It just needs a little TLC and some creative brainstorming to maximize the potential of your design.
Tip 2: Try a little tilt
Slant the tiles a little to the left or a little to the right and you’ll achieve an out of the box appeal that will make you say, “I can’t believe it’s not butter expensive.”
Tip 3: Add some color
In a previous blog post, we talked about how a simple dash of color can improve an entire space! By adding color to the grout of your subway tile design, you’ll be able to add other accents and furnishing that will give the space a cohesive and luxurious feel.
Tip 4: Go vertical
Flip the script and go from the typical way of placing subway tile horizontally to turning it up right, vertically. This approach will make the space seem bigger and can totally change the overall feel.
Tip 5: Make some “M”s
Achieve a repeating “M” design when you manipulate your subway tiles right. This tactic will do the eyes good with a little trickery. Instead of seeing the design as individual subway tiles, enjoy a more mosaic-inspired aesthetic.
Tip 6: Get inspired tile design
Our team is always winning- err, pinning! That’s right, you can connect with us on Pinterest and see what the team is whipping up. For this specific need, check out our “Subway Tiles” board for inspiration.
